Raison Asset Management invested in Nerdwallet

Raison Asset Management invested in an American fintech startup with 100 million NerdWallet users, became its direct investor, and entered the company's capitalization table. About this RB.ru, the Raison press service reported.

The deal was closed shortly before Reuters reported on the upcoming IPO of NerdWallet. According to insider information, the company will go public before the end of 2021 with an estimated $5 billion, Raison noted.

"Under the terms of the NDA, the size of the transaction was not disclosed, but it is known that the value of the shares was calculated from an estimate of $2.3 billion," the investment company said.

"The traditional financial system is too cumbersome, requires high maintenance costs, and, most importantly, is inconvenient for modern users. Fintech startups are changing the game's rules in this multi-billion-dollar market," said Andrey Berezin, Managing Partner at Raison Asset Management.

The investment company works with projects at their pre-IPO stage. Raison focuses on technology startups, which are expected to enter the stock exchange in the next 1–3 years. Raison's portfolio includes 20 companies with valuations above $1 billion, particularly SpaceX, Robinhood, and Klarna. NerdWallet was founded in 2009. Provides financial recommendations to users on credit cards, loans, mortgages, and other products. The site and application have more than 100 million users annually.
