The crash of the Starship spacecraft during its test launch will not affect plans to colonize Mars, Elon Musk said on X. The test launch of the rocket took place on January 17, 2025, but shortly afterward, company representatives announced an “unscheduled disassembly” of the spacecraft.

On January 18, Musk stated that Starlink satellite communications are now available in 120 countries worldwide.

Neuralink

During an interview in Las Vegas, which was broadcast on X, Elon Musk announced that the third patient has received a Neuralink chip. “We now have three people with Neuralink, and everything is going well,” he said.

Anthropic

Anthropic is raising $2B at a $60B valuation. Lightspeed Venture Partners is leading the round. Total financing has reached $6B. The company competes with OpenAI. The Wall Street Journal was the first to report this.

Cohere

On January 9, Cohere introduced North, a new secure AI product. North aims to compete with Microsoft Copilot and Google Vertex AI in the enterprise segment. According to Cohere representatives, North demonstrates better performance than its competitors in finance, HR, support, and IT. North is intended to help companies maximize AI capabilities while strictly adhering to data protection requirements.

Chainalysis

Chainalysis has announced the acquisition of Alterya, an innovative AI platform that detects scammers before they reach their victims. Since its stealth launch, Alterya has been collaborating with leading cryptocurrency exchanges and fintech companies—including Binance, Coinbase, and Block—as well as major financial institutions, monitoring over $8B per month in crypto and fiat transactions.
