Crypto investigations, new SpaceX launches and the launch of Claude 3.5

Kraken

Kraken MTF, Britain's first crypto derivatives exchange, is now partnering with Copper, a leader in digital asset storage, to provide over-the-counter payments for institutional clients. Thanks to ClearLoop, Copper's technology enables connections to multiple exchanges, allowing investors to trade virtual balances on Kraken MTF with settlements managed within the Copper infrastructure.

SpaceX

On June 23, SpaceX launched two batches of Starlink satellites from both coasts of the United States. Falcon 9, with 22 Starlink, launched from Florida, and another rocket, with 20 Starlink, 13 of which have call-to-cell communication capability, launched from California. The first stages of both rockets successfully landed on the drone ships. These were SpaceX's 63rd and 64th orbital flights in 2024, adding to its Starlink megastar.

Anduril

Rheinmetall and Anduril Industries have agreed to develop a Counter small Unmanned Aerial System (C-sUAS) air defense system. These systems will integrate Rheinmetall's Skymaster command and control system and other technologies, as well as Anduril's Sentry tower, Wisp sensors, and Anvil. Both companies' leaders highlighted this collaboration's innovative and strategic advantages.

Chainalysis

Chainalysis has released «The 2024 State of Cryptocurrency Investigations Report». According to its results, respondents anticipate that the role of cryptocurrencies in criminal activities will increase over the next five years. The survey revealed that about half of the respondents are dissatisfied with the personnel and technical resources available for solving cryptocurrency-related crimes.

Klarna

Klarna has announced the divestment of Klarna Checkout (KCO). The buyer is a consortium of investors led by Kamjar Hajabdolahi, CEO and Founding Partner at BLQ Invest. This strategic move will allow KCO to continue developing and enhancing its position as a leading industry product under new ownership. Additionally, Klarna Plus, a service launched by WebBank, has reached a significant milestone of 100,000 subscribers in the USA since its launch earlier this year. This indicates substantial growth and acceptance of the service in the competitive U.S. market.

Patreon

Patreon is broadening its platform by integrating features beyond paid memberships. It now offers free memberships and additional engagement tools such as online chats and one-time payments. These enhancements have drawn over 30 million new non-paying subscribers, significantly increasing user interactions between creators and fans.

Anthropic

On June 21, Anthropic launched Claude 3.5 Sonnet—the first version in the Claude 3.5 series. This model outperforms competitors' models and Claude 3 Opus across various assessments. It's freely available on Claude.ai and the Claude app for iOS, while Claude Pro and Team plan subscribers can access it with significantly higher rate limits. It is also available through the Anthropic API, Amazon Bedrock, and Google Cloud Vertex AI.
