Raison and Anthropic: 43x in three years
How an early bet became our portfolio's top performer
In June 2023, when most of the market was still figuring out what large language models actually were, Raison invested $1.5 million in Anthropic as part of its Series C round. The company was valued at $4.5 billion at the time, and our entry price was $13.7 per share.
On May 28, 2026, Anthropic closed a new Series H round. The price per share is approximately $589. That is 43 times our initial entry point.
Why we invested in Anthropic
In 2023, Anthropic was known only to a narrow circle of specialists. The company, founded by former OpenAI researchers led by Dario Amodei, had a single product, the Claude language model, but already carried a strong reputation in the research community.
From the start, Anthropic was building AI with a focus on safety and transparency, at a time when most of the industry was racing for performance at any cost.
We saw this not just as a different philosophy, but as a potential competitive advantage. Enterprise clients choose technologies they can trust. That is why we made the bet.
What happened over three years
In three years, Anthropic went from an under-the-radar startup to one of the defining players in the global AI industry.
In 2024, Google and Amazon invested tens of billions of dollars into the company, the largest corporate AI investments at the time. Claude gradually became the standard for the enterprise segment: today it is used by three of the Big Four auditing firms, major banks, and healthcare organizations.
In May 2026, Anthropic posted an operating profit for the first time — a rare milestone for a frontier AI company at this scale. Annualized revenue has exceeded $30 billion. The company is now preparing for an IPO that prediction markets estimate will value it at over $1 trillion.
What this means for our clients
Raison investors who gained access to Anthropic through our platform now hold an asset that has grown 43-fold from the initial entry price.
This result reflects the approach at the core of our work: finding promising companies in the early stages of development, before their potential is priced in, and giving clients access to deals typically reserved for the largest institutional investors.
The Anthropic story has become one of the clearest demonstrations of how this approach works. And it is not over yet — the IPO remains the next major milestone.
