Neuralink is recruiting volunteers for the first trial
Adult patients with quadriplegia can apply

Elon Musk's startup, Neuralink, has announced a call for volunteers for the first trial of its brain implants. Adult patients with quadriplegia can apply.
During the trials, patients will have an implant of 1,024 ultra-thin electrodes inserted by a surgical robot. With the help of a user app, patients' brain signals will be decoded, allowing them to control a computer — moving the cursor and typing on the keyboard. The first phase of the trial will last 18 months.
It is expected that in the future, Neuralink's clients will be people with motor function, vision, hearing, and speech impairments. In the more distant future, as the company reports, the development may find widespread non-medical use. Elon Musk even stated, «In the long term, Neuralink hopes to play a role in AI civilizational risk reduction by improving human to AI bandwidth by several orders of magnitude.»
