Tuum
Estonian-based platform, founded in 2019, got 2022 off to a flying start with a €15 million funding boost in January. The startup is developing a flexible and modular cloud-agnostic platform enabling banks, fintech firms, and traditionally non-financial companies efficiently roll out new financial products and services. The demand for its next-generation core banking platform has rapidly grown.
The platform is now trusted by an expanding list of regulated banks, fintech, and embedded finance players from various industries.
Rolla
Rolla, a Bosnia and Herzegovina-based startup, creates apps that help users track, compete, and have fun while working out, both outdoors and indoors.
The company monitors and tracks persons' physical activities and health segments, bringing them to the virtual world. The aim is to gain motivation to live a healthier lifestyle through participation and the creation of various challenges.
The goal of the project is for people, mainly students in Bosnia and Herzegovina, to regularly jog or run indoors, not only in the gym but also in their houses or apartments.
QUIN
QUIN is a Berlin-based startup giving access to long-term investments with an easy and secure investment advice platform. QUIN is introducing a new way of benefiting from European Open Banking Regulations.
To start, users connect their existing bank accounts to the platform, and they can start investing.
The app asks several questions and automatically builds an individual ETF portfolio within a few taps.
So far, the startup has raised €1.1 million since being founded in 2020.
Biopix-T
Biopix-T was founded by George Papadakis and Nikolaos Vikas founded in 2019. They created a spin-off company to work on a prototype for a Point-of-Care (POC) testing device for the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology at the Foundation for Research and Technology — Hellas.
Point-of-Care devices are used instead of a lab in a doctor's office, an ambulance, a hotel, or in limited-resource areas.
As of today, they developed the Pebble device, a micro POC testing center that produces highly accurate results quickly, automatically transfers the data to a database, and is managed from an easy-to-use Android device.
Earlier last year, the Greek startup closed a €1.45 million seed round. They use the funding to expand the testing capabilities of the Pebble device to other indications and pathogens.
XFARM
XFARM, founded in 2016, is a Milan-based startup. Farmers worldwide are under increasing pressure to show consumers the safety and sustainability of traditional farming methods.
The agricultural IoT startup's mission is to digitize the market through a mobile platform that collects (via physical sensors in the fields) and analyzes data from hydration levels to farm equipment status to weed growth and crop market prices.
xFarm raised more than $4 million in a 2019 Series A round led by United Ventures.
BLINK
Founded in 2014 and based in London, UK, the Blink app offers companies a unified platform that allows frontline (non-office) workers to access company resources (IT, HR, productivity, communications, etc.).
The company manages integration instead of the customer company's IT staff.
Blink customer base has been expanding since its launch in 2018.
They recently raised $20 million in a Series A round led by Next47, with participation from early investors Partech and Techstars, bringing its funding total to $30.7m.
Sportifico
Sportifico is a Serbia-based sports startup aiming to create an online community for people building their sports careers.
Sportifico is a social network where athletes of all kinds can discuss opportunities, share their past experiences, present their abilities and post stats from their performance when searching for trials of playing opportunities for clubs and teams.
Since 2017, the network has had more than 13 thousand registered users throughout the SEE region.
