Quantum Light: How Data Drives Venture Profits

A Look at the Aleph Model and the Fund’s Approach to Deal Selection

Quantum Light: How Data Drives Venture Profits

The venture capital market is transforming as systematic data replaces intuition. Quantum Light Capital, founded by Nik Storonsky (Revolut) and Ilya Kondrashov (Kriya), uses algorithms to find future tech leaders and invest in them under favorable terms.

In a private online meeting, Ilya Kondrashov and Andrei Berezin, co-founder of Raison, discussed the Aleph model—a system that enables the fund to find deals faster and more accurately than traditional investors.

What Is Quantum Light

Quantum Light combines two key advantages. First, it uses a systematic approach to deal selection based on the Aleph model. Second, it draws on the founders’ experience building one of the world’s largest fintech companies.

The team started with a critical view of classic venture capital. It’s an emotional market where investors often chase hype. The founders’ technical background helped them build a system that selects investment targets impartially.

How the Aleph Model Works: “Math Versus Intuition”

At the core of the fund is the Aleph model, developed by a team of engineers — top graduates of MIPT and MIT. The model analyzes data from 20 providers, tracking company dynamics, headcount growth, traffic, and investor quality.

  1. Pattern Recognition: The model looks for companies developing along the same trajectory as the most successful tech giants of the past.
  2. Human Filter: The algorithm generates a shortlist of the top 4% of targets. Final decisions and due diligence are always conducted by a team of experts.
  3. The Partner Factor: the system evaluates not just the fund, but the specific partner leading the deal.

Portfolio

The fund has invested in high-profile projects such as Lovable, which scaled to $400 million ARR in a matter of months, 11 Labs, and Together.ai.

Operational Expertise as a Scaling Tool

The founders have formalized the key processes behind building a global fintech platform into practical playbooks, covering everything from recruiting to scaling the CEO’s office. Founders of portfolio startups implement these proven management practices and avoid common pitfalls. Few venture players can offer this kind of support.

Why Raison Works with Quantum Light

Raison clients have already invested $5 million into the first Quantum Light fund. According to Andrei Berezin, the project stands out for its ambitious goal of outperforming the world’s most established venture funds through technology:

In my view, this is one of the most promising next-generation funds. They aim to beat top players using a machine learning model. We appreciate their approach: they don’t try to predict the future — they rely on calculations and real growth metrics. Raison acts as a platform that allows our investors to participate in these deals with a check 10 times lower than the minimum entry threshold.
